Aussie Curves {Belts}

Finally an Aussie Curves challenge playing to my strengths! It’s time to play homage to my favorite accessory – the Belt.

Now, I’m not one for following ‘the rules’ – I wear bold prints and horizontal stripes without a second thought. But I am always conscious about creating the right overall shape. Hourglass is always the goal for me – and as a pear, I’m all about adding a bit to my shoulders and nipping in my waist with a belt. It’s a formula that works for me.

So, I raise my glass and salute my hero – the Belt.

I love this ASOS curve belt, the gold spikes are actually the method of fashening so there is no bukle, and the gold arrows further help to create the optical illusion of a small waist.

These snaps are taken as I’m running out the door to work. My ‘work wardrobe’ generally follows my fashion formula – adding a bit to my shoulders with cap sleeves and bright colours, nipping in my waist with a belt, and keeping it relatively plain on the bottom. It’s essentially my corporate fatshion uniform, but it makes it easy to decide what to wear each morning – and lets face it, at 6am – I need all the help I can get!

Top: Origami Peplum top from Dorothy Perkins
Belt: ASOS Curve gold and cream spike and arrow belt
Pants: City Chic TDF Black slacks (Pear Shape)

Anyway, that’s my take on Belts week – I can’t wait to ‘do the rounds’ and see what the other girls came up with…. Aussie Curves is a weekly fashion challenge for Australian and New Zealand bloggers, sizes 14+. Join in the fun!

  1. What size is the belt? ๐Ÿ™‚ Would you say it runs large or small? I wanted to order an ASOS curve belt but I’m not sure what size to order by looking by their size chart, and I seem to find mixed reviews about the sizing. It would help a lot!
